Mining
The mining industry has a broad diversity of laboratories depending largely on the type of mineral being mined and how much of the beneficiation process is served by the laboratory. They can range from Base metals, Precious metals, Heavy minerals, Rare earths, Coal, Diamonds right through to Fertilizers.  Laboratories will therefore cover many activities depending on which of these are being mined. With such a variation in production and requirements Labs are constantly demanding more efficient, accurate LIMS/Database systems to retain competitiveness in the market place. Unlike other industries mining requires a large number of samples and results, remote sample log-in and sample and consignment tracking, this means that accurate recording at bench level is essential. The use of many diverse instruments is another obstacle for organization to attempt to integrate them; OnLabs suite integrates with almost any instrument no matter how complex.

The mining industry is constantly developing with new markets immerging everyday, places such as China, India and Russia have the raw materials but may not have the necessary infrastructure in place to manage there operations efficiently. Increasingly we are witnessing partnerships, mergers and takeovers by companies to gain competitive advantage, in addition; with such diverse labs and elements of standardization is essential. The OnLABS suite works in conjunction with any LIMS and will interface with any instrument to simplify processes and structure and ensure all data is accurate and validated in a costly, efficient manner. OnLabs product suite is used in house by Alfred H Knight group and has proved invaluable in the mining sample and testing laboratories world wide.
