Development

The OnLabs product suite was developed using Microsoft C++ and MFC. These are state of the art tools for Object Oriented Software development. The result is a compact and very efficient program code (true Win32), optimized for speed and network traffic.

Architecture

1. Laboratory bench: Worksheet and QA/QC

OnLabs product suite has client server architecture and can use either MS SQL Server or Oracle for the database engine.

Worksheets and instrument raw data are stored in flat files, this allows for additional flexibility and backup.

The small application size is the product of the efficient program coding in C++. This directly translates into a very fast and responsive LIMS.

System specification

As a rule of thumb as far as performance goes, if MS Word or Excel performance is acceptable on your computer, then the OnLabs product suite will run.

Data Transfer, exporting

OnlLabs product suite provides a wide range of standard export format files. Customized export formats are also available. Exporting formats and export paths can be predefined for each client in the client table to make reporting a little easier.
